iWrite

In addition to being a gamer, I'd consider myself a "budding wordsmith". The excerpt below is a little old, but I like it. <_< Comments are welcome.

+=+=+=+=+=+=+

In a haze of blue, white, yellow, and vermillion her green eyes peered from behind black lashes -- her steady breathing seemed to blend perfectly with the harmonious silence of the veritably colored flowers. The hundreds of green stems and petals reached with youthful enthusiasm towards the sun, while encompassed by an expansive field and rolling hills. Because it was devoid of trees, bushes, or other obtrusive placements, the area could have represented a utopist getaway -- unparalleled peace, serenity.

The young woman moved her delicate frame into an upright position and scoffed. As gravity caused thin, darkened follicles to wisp across her face, she began to sneer at what she thought to be an illusion -- a man made artifice created to calm her, soother her...make her an easy target. The tight, torn white shirt she'd worn in all the other tests felt damp against her flesh, and although she was no longer sweating, her body began to warm in anticipation.

"Mr. Idol, she has awakened."

"Very good," his voice was low but firm, "Send them in."

Because she stood atop a hill, her vision of the surrounding area extended quite far, yet she couldn't tell where they were coming from -- the low, insidious growls of whatever she would have to kill next. Yet after only a few seconds, the glazed, vindictive eyes of her adversaries appeared several feet northeast of her position. As they began to make their way atop the hill, the conglomerate of differently colored flora began to decay in heed of the dogs...wolves...creatures that made their way towards the target. The corners of their mouths expelled an oozing, acidic black liquid that also seeped through the crevices between their lower jaws. The creatures' skin was now a muted, reddened desiccation of scars, sores, and exposed flesh from past experiences.

The woman waited sorrowfully and in seconds, they were upon her – enraptured in a struggle for life and beseeching for death.

Late to the party

Guitar Hero II is awesome...

Seriously!

I was first introduced to Guitar Hero on the Wii through Legends of Rock and have been a fan of the franchise ever since. And for the "Why don't you pick up a real instrument crowd?", I think Mitch Krpata sums it up nicely.

Although a lot of people didn't like the steep difficutly curve in GH3, I slowly but surely began to welcome and embrace the challenge because of the heightened feeling of accomplishment. This is where I think GH: World Tour drops the ball completely.

If I wanted to play Rockband, I'd play Rockband. And to be honst, RB:2 is really the better overall product.

Slight digression aside, I can only think of a few memorable songs from World Tour that go continuous play:

-Anything
-Zack Wylde's song
-Scream Aim Fire
-Satch Boogie
-The Wind Cries Mary

I've had this game for about 4-5 months mind you. The "only time will tell" cliche works rather nicely here, but I can already see myself having much more fulfilling experiences with GH:2 in the couple hours I've spent with it.

-Jordan O_o
-Free Bird
-Beast and the Harlet
-Less talk more Rokk
-Some song in the last tier that starts with "G"
-Another song with the word "grass" in it

Again, it will only be through continuous play sessions that I'll be able to really gauge the products replayability, but at least Guitar Hero II feels like an actual Guitar Hero game and not Rockband 1.5

It's a little rough, but it's great to hear these guys again.

ZootedGranny

At times the sound quality of this episode sucks. We're working on it. One week, we'll succeed in taping a separate track for each cast member, and then manage to mix them properly. This isn't that week. But don't blame ZootedGranny, who generously agreed to assist with difficult edits. You're listening now because of his effort.

Sorry

I've been away. And I apologize. Street Fighter just came out and I've put around 90 hours into it already. Sad? Maybe. But that game is damn fun.

Anywho, this is not the time for excuses. Consider this a personal slap in the face to get my anus in gear. If I must digress to simply posting links to other places, then so be it.

Will you be my motivation?

Randomness FTL(W)

It's no secret that, when you are put into a situation to run a red light, you are inclined (if not compelled) to do so. Did it just turn yellow? Run it. Did it turn yellow five seconds ago? Run it. Did the car in front of you run the light? Well, so can you!

It's weird, this train of thought, and luckily -- oh so luckily! -- I've yet to be in an accident because of it or be stopped by the fuzz. But there's something that even this "compulsive desire" does not allow me understand. After you've tried to "stick it to the man", why then must one continually accelerate, zigzag, and pass every vehicle on the road whenever possible?

Am I missing something?

Is the ability to safely navigate slow moving cars at fifty miles per hour an inherent gift to those that lack the capacity to merge on a freeway WITHOUT BACKING UP TRAFFIC? For many people, why yes, yes it is. But I'm slowly beginning to see why people say the drivers here are terrible. But then again, maybe I'm apart of the problem. :(

Test

This is something I really need to do.
